![]() For months Velma Kellen of Yelm Washington had noticed problems with her home. She would complain that certain parts of the home were getting cold and that there was a foul smokey odor rising up from the floor. Other times she would notice that her backyard gate was left open. Was there a ghost living in her home? Not quite. Velma finally got tired of the cold spots in the house so she called a repairman to check things out. When the repairman crawled under the house, he found liquor bottles, beer cans, and signs that someone had been living under the house! The squatter had cut holes in the ductwork so that he could keep warm during the winter. Brendan Spaar thinks this sounds a lot like the Mole People living under New York City that were featured in the documentary Dark Days.
